I got interested in genealogy after we moved to Prescott, AZ in 1991 when my husband, Bert Wilson, asked me if I would research his family line.  I took a class at our local college and I was instantly addicted.  I picked up the reins that my brother had dropped after he had a heart attack and subsequent by-pass surgery.  He had laid good ground work.  I was able to continue the research and more than double the ancestors and cousins. With the advent of the Internet, I am continually discovering new cousins.  Some of them quite famous!   Robert the Bruce, King of the Scots, was my second cousin (21x removed!) James the First was my sixteenth great grandfather.  I am also related to five past US Presidents:  Rutherford B. Hayes, George Herbert Walker Bush, William Howard Taft, Richard M. Nixon and Stephen Grover Cleveland.  In addition to those well-known relatives, I am a distant cousin of Jonathan Swift (Gulliver's Travels), Harriet Beecher Stow, and Francis Scott Key.   And, of course, now I am related to a man that is now our 43rd US President, George W. Bush.  It is an exciting time to be addicted to genealogy!

I also discovered that the land my ancestors (Finley/Farquharson Clan) owned in Scotland was confiscated by the royal family and is now the summer home of Queen Elizabeth, namely Balmoral Castle!  

Our family names that I have traced extensively are Adams, Charlton, Cloe, Finley, Foote, Hughes, London, McCoy, Mortenson,  Perry, Sellers, Stephenson/Stevenson, Swift.
